Hospital Emergency Care
The American College of Surgeons’ guidelines for optimal care in Level I and II trauma centers—the centers that treat the most serious and complex facial trauma patients—recommend an oral and maxillofacial surgeon be included as a member of the centers’ trauma teams.
In Lafayette, Dr. Coates and Dr. DeWitt have full privileges at Franciscan Alliance Hospitals, and remain on-call with the emergency departments for consultation and care for severely injured patients.
